I’m still not sure how it happened, but I’ve become a runner.
I’m so excited about this great new project, #run3forme, which marries my 2 big passions: mental health advocacy and running!
Do you know someone who is fighting for their life, recovering after a suicide attempt? Have you lost someone to suicide? I want to run for them.
Running has changed my life. It’s improved my health, while also serving as a great tool to fight my depression and anxiety.
I nearly died by suicide in 2012. The past several years have been all about recovery and forming a safe community of people who understand what it’s like to reach the lowest point of your life.
I get it.
Would you send me your story? A story of struggle, survival, or loss? You can email it to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line: #run3forme and I’ll run 3 miles in your honor, or in memory of your friend or loved one.
I’ll share an image from the day’s run on Instagram and Twitter, using the hashtag #run3forme, and thousands of people from around the globe will join with you in your mourning and/or your fight to live another day.
